The Atlantic Dance Festival is happening this weekend.
Normally the event features performers from all over Atlantic Canada and even internationally, but this year’s event will feature all New Brunswick dancers.
Artist director for the festival, Chantal Cadieux says when they initially put the call out for performers, it could only be to New Brunswick artists.
Cadieux says the Atlantic bubble was announced after the submission deadline. She says afterwards it was a question of timing.
“We told everybody to send their CVs and proposals by the end of June and it was only in July that the bubble opened up, so it was kind of late to ask people from other Atlantic provinces to participate,” she says.
Performances, workshops and dance-themed films will be happening in Moncton from August 7th to the 17th.
