YMCAs across the province have launched a unique charity fundraiser that’s guaranteed to make you sweat!
The YMCAs of Greater Moncton, Greater Saint John and Fredericton are hosting the ‘Sweat for Strong Communities 506’ challenge.
Shilo Boucher, President and CEO of YMCA of Greater Saint John says now that events are shifting to virtual it gives the Ys an opportunity to work together in a new way.
For a donation of $25, individuals and teams can register online to do 506 jumping jacks, 506 laps in the pool, 506 minutes of walking or any other activity that gets you moving and incorporates the province’s area code.
Participants can complete the challenge in one day or throughout the fundraising period from now until August 22nd.
All funds will go toward removing financial barriers so everyone can participate in activities at the Y.
Greater Moncton YMCA CEO Zane Korytko says not only is this a great way to encourage physical activity among New Brunswickers, it’s a vital way for the three Ys to raise funds to help the most vulnerable in our communities.
