The federal government has extended the Canada/U.S. border closure until September 21 at the earliest.
It was set to expire on August 21.
Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair says the government will continue to do what’s necessary to keep our communities safe.
The ban on non-essential travel hasn’t been lifted since it was implemented in March and the extension comes at a time when the United States continues to struggle with spiking COVID-19 cases.
