Two Canadians were killed in the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon earlier this month.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is sending his condolences to their families and friends. He doesn’t confirm their identities, but reports say one of the victims was a three-year-old girl.
He adds his thoughts are with the Canadians who are injured or missing in Lebanon.
“Canada will continue to stand with the people of Lebanon and to support them as they begin the difficult task of rebuilding their lives and their city,” Trudeau says.
The explosion happened August 4th, and 178 people have been confirmed dead. The cause has been blamed on the improper storage of chemicals.
