Jury selection begins Monday for the fitness hearing of Matthew Vincent Raymond.
He faces four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Const. Sara Burns, Const. Robb Costello, Bobbie Lee Wright and Donnie Robichaud in Fredericton two years ago.
The four were killed in a shooting outside of an apartment complex on the city’s north side on Aug. 10, 2018.
It is the second time Raymond has faced a fitness hearing. A jury found him not fit to stand trial last October and he was ordered to undergo treatment.
If Raymond is found fit, his trial is expected to begin in September.
The province says this is the first jury selection and would be the first full jury trial in Canada since COVID-19 began.
