With a snap provincial election call, Elections NB has found it challenging to set up returning offices province-wide.
Chief electoral officer Kim Poffenroth says service providers have been working diligently to set up telecommunications and materials have been shipped out from their warehouse.
“We do ask voters and candidates to be patient with our returning officers. Everybody is working as hard as they can but it does take time to get material and services to all the ridings across the province on such short notice.”
Given the rush to set everything up, some phone lines may not be open yet and voters should email or visit the office in person right now instead.
Poffenroth says the returning offices are hiring for various positions and more details on how to apply can be found on the Elections NB website.
