The Chief Electoral Officer for Elections NB says returning offices have been busy in advance of the September 14th provincial vote.
Advance polling stations will also be open on Saturday, September 5th and again on September 8th from 10am until 8pm.
Kim Poffenroth says there will be some noticeable differences for voters, “They may have lineups outside because we are going to be controlling the number of people who are going to be allowed in the polling station to facilitate social distancing, physical distancing. There is going to be quite frequent cleaning going on because we are going to be encouraging social distancing within the polling stations It may be a bit slower this time.”
She says they are encouraging voters to wear face masks, “Particularly when social distancing cannot be maintained. All voters are going to be asked to use sanitizer when entering the poll and when leaving as well.”
Poffenroth says voters should have received their voter information cards in the mail, “If they have not been received, you can still got to vote,” Poffenroth says. “if you want to know where your polling location is, you can visit ElectionsNB.ca, and put in your address. Your advance and election day polling locations will come up.”
