Green party leader David Coon was re-elected in Fredericton South for a third term.
Coon says the party has a lot of work to do and that he and his team can’t wait to get started.
“And this is a clear message to Mr. Higgs that we have support around this province for the Greens and we will fight to end division is this province and ensure that no one is turned against the other, that South and North come together, that rural and urban come together and that no one is disadvantaged,” he says.
He says it’s important that there are no gaps for anyone to fall through as the province rebuilds its economy.
Coon says they are committed to balancing the economic recovery and environmental issues.
“Everyone should have a seat at the table, there must be nobody who feels excluded as we map the path to our future recovery and that has to be a recovery that we can be proud of to leave for our children,” says Coon.
He says the well being of New Brunswick families is at the heart of every decision the party makes, whether it’s on economic recovery or addressing environmental issues.
Coon earned 53 percent of the vote.
