Marc Miller says, fortunately, barring a few cases in northwestern Ontario, the incidence is very low.
“If there’s any lesson we learned from the first wave is vigilance across indigenous communities has kept people safe,” stresses Miller.
“We don’t brag about statistics, but the statistic numbers do bear this out. It doesn’t change the vulnerabilities but does underscore what vigilance has to be maintained.”
Over the weekend, the Sandy Lake and Pikangikum First Nations reported one positive case each and there were six cases confirmed of COVID-19 on the Kasabonika First Nation last week.
