Schitt’s Creek won all of its nominated categories at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards.
The sitcom, which aired from 2015 to 2020, aired in the US on cable channel Pop TV and streamed globally on Netflix. Eugene Levy, Daniel Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy swept their acting categories and Daniel Levy won Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series alongside Andrew Cividino.
HBO’s global media empire dramady Succession and limited series Watchmen, based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel, won four Emmys apiece.
Actress Zendaya made history as both the youngest actress to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at 24 years old and only the second Black women to win the category in the Emmys 70+ year history.
HBO dominated the ceremony with eleven Emmy wins, while Pop TV had seven Emmy wins and Netflix had two Emmy wins.
