New Brunswick’s travel bubble with a neighbouring Quebec region is shrinking effective noon on Friday (September 25).
A rise in COVID-19 cases in Avignon County has prompted the provincial government to limit day trips to only residents of the Listuguj First Nation and the community of Pointe-à-la-Croix near Campbellton.
Non-essential travel from elsewhere in Avignon County will no longer be permitted but travel for work, medical care and child care or custody arrangements can continue.
For anyone else allowed to enter the province, a 14-day self-isolation period will be required upon arrival.
The COVID-19 all-party cabinet committee made the decision after reviewing public health advice.
