The Conservative MP for Fundy Royal believes the Federal government’s throne speech on Wednesday did not address the concerns of businesses and families in New Brunswick.
Rob Moore said it doesn’t speak to where people are right now. He didn’t see anything about the programs that discourage people from getting back to work.
“This is government and a prime minister that’s in major damage control. The fallout from the WE scandal is why he prorogued parliament. That’s very clear from the throne speech,” Moore said.
“There is not enough in here for my constituents. I would certainly have a hard time supporting a speech from the throne that offered so little,” Moore said in an interview on Thursday.
Moore said he wanted to see Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invest in healthcare and efforts to help New Brunswickers get back to work.
“So now he’s brought in a typical Liberal throne speech that’s very short on details and big on flowery language and promises but, what I am looking for are the concrete measures that will help people in New Brunswick,” Moore said.
Federal Conservative party leader Erin O’Toole has said the party will not be supporting the federal government’s throne speech.
