The New Brunswick Liquor Commission will require masks to be worn by customers in all NB Liquor store locations starting October 8.
A post to the liquor commission’s website indicates they are making the change to increase capacity in stores for the winter months, in order to reduce wait times outside the stores.
“By making masks mandatory while in our stores we can continue to keep our team members and customers safe, while increasing the capacity in the store,” the post reads.
Exceptions are available for those who are medically unable to wear face masks, among other possible reasons. A full list of the possible exceptions can be found on the ANBL website.
The liquor commission encourages anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable shopping in their stores to consider ordering curbside pickup.
Meanwhile, Cannabis NB is opting not to institute mandatory masks at this time.
“Cannabis NB (CNB) has been and will continue to monitor the situation as it pertains to mandatory masks. When more information is available we will communicate that with our customers,” said Director of Communications Sarah Bustard in a statement provided to Acadia Broadcasting.
