The New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS) has a new president at the helm.
Dr. Jeff Steeves is an ophthalmologist in Rothesay, who will be replacing past president, Dr. Chris Goodyear.
Steeves is originally from Lunenburg, N.S., and joined the NBMS board in 2015.
According to the NBMS, he plans to work with the government on the provincial response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Steeves will also work on addressing critical healthcare issues such as specialist recruitment, access to primary care, ER capacity, and physician shortages.
The NBMS is the professional association representing all physicians in New Brunswick.
