Operation Red Nose will look very different this year because it will not include a safe drive home for holiday partygoers.
Organizers decided because of the pandemic and its impact, the national safe ride service will not be provided during the 2020 holiday season.
Operation Red Nose will continue work on its mission to promote responsible consumption while adapting to the current situation.
“The safety of our volunteers, clients, and local host organizations has always been one of our top priorities,” said Jean-Philippe Giroux, Executive Director for Operation Red Nose. “The decision was made after long and careful consideration, and not without emotion. We remain convinced that positive initiatives will be possible this holiday season. In the meantime, we want to remind everyone to always plan ahead for a safe way to get home.”
Details on the Operation Red Nose 2020 awareness campaign will be unveiled next month.
We are sad to announce today that @ORNose will not offer the ride service during the 2020 holiday season.
