Environment Canada says we could be in for quite a bit of rain on Tuesday night.
The national weather agency issued a special weather statement for the entire province late Monday.
Meteorologist Jill Maepea said Moncton could see 20 to 30 millimetres of rain, while Saint John and southwestern New Brunswick could get up to 45 millimetres.
“Generally just an overall good moderate-to-heavy rain event, something the province hasn’t seen very much lately. I’m sure it won’t be unwelcome for places that are very dry right now,” said Maepea.
In addition to heavy rain, some areas of New Brunswick could also see some gusty winds, particularly along the Fundy coast.
“Winds could gust up to 70 kilometres per hour along the Fundy coast, but as of lately we have seen some strong winds from other systems, so this isn’t really too strong,” said Maepea.
The rain will end from west to east throughout the afternoon Wednesday.
A Special Weather Statement is in effect for New Brunswick, discussing heavy rain Tuesday night into Wednesday. #nbstorm
