Premier Blaine Higgs remains optimistic that Zone 1 (Moncton region) and Zone 5 (Campbellton region) will be able to move out of the orange COVID-19 recovery phase soon.
Higgs says he has confidence in both officials and individuals who are following public health guidelines.
“Not only will the curve flatten once again but we will rebound quicker into the yellow phase,” he believes.
Higgs is aware not everyone is following public health guidelines in New Brunswick.
Any complaints received are being followed up by Public Safety officials he noted.
The premier urges people to be honest and forthright if they are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons.
Higgs says a medical certificate is not required for proof at this time and he’s relying on the integrity of New Brunswickers.
For those businesses which are still struggling, Higgs encourages them to reach out to Opportunities NB for support.
Some programs will compliment federal programs and include working capital loans of up to $100.000 or more.
