A 28 year-old man was charged after the incident that led to the lockdown of several Fredericton-area schools and universities.
On Thursday at 7:40 a.m. police responded to a call on Gregg Court of a barricaded individual. Negotiators spoke to the suspect for hours, and they exited the residence and entered custody at 3:30 p.m.
Police discovered two long guns and a bulletproof vest upon searching the residence.
Kyle Anthony Kennedy of Fredericton was charged Friday with several weapons-related counts, including pointing a firearm, uttering threats, and two counts of forcible confinement.
He will appear in court again Tuesday, October 27.
