Food Depot Alimentaire received a huge boost in support in the middle of the pandemic from two major organizations in New Brunswick.
Executive director Chantal Senecal says a donation of $1 million each from J.D. Irving and the McCain Foundation earlier this year was a real game-changer.
Senecal says Food Depot was able to develop and implement a plan in only three weeks to make a real difference during COVID-19.
The organization secured a truck and a driver to deliver fresh, frozen and dry food provincewide.
Senecal says Food Depot is grateful for the donations and also for all of their volunteers.
“Whether it’s just volunteering your time, spending time at a fundraiser or a food drive, making a $5 donation or supporting our 50/50 draw… it really takes a community to help a community.”
