The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra is launching its new season with the first of five virtual concerts.
The shows will be live-streamed online through to April, directly on the NBYO’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
In addition to the musical performances, the ‘NBYO LIVE’ concerts will take you behind-the-scenes for interviews and offer a real-time Q&A session.
Their recent livestream concert attracted over 2,500 online viewers, reaching many more viewers than would have been possible through a more traditional approach.
To respect health and safety protocols, the 45-minute concerts will feature five 20-person ensembles of the NBYO, each taking the stage separately.
The first show will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. and be live-streamed from the Wesleyan Celebration Centre.
Jac Gautreau, executive producer with the National Film Board of Canada will produce the shows, while celebrated New Brunswick musician David Myles will host the October concert
and its interactive component.
The concerts will be free to watch, but donations are welcome.
