Two people have been forced from their home in the Kennebecasis Valley after an early afternoon fire in Rothesay.
The Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department was called to Hibbard Lane shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
“When the crews arrived on scene, they were met with heavy smoke coming from home,” said Division Chief Shawn White.
White said crews were able to make quick entry into the home and knock the fire down, but it did sustain “quite a bit” of smoke damage.
Everyone inside the home made it out before fire crews arrived on the scene, he said.
“Nobody was injured. The Red Cross has been contacted to give assistance to the homeowner,” said White.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, he said.
