Travel has continued during COVID-19 even though some parts of Canada have more restrictions than others.
The pandemic has placed an even greater importance on travel insurance but it’s important to know what is covered in your policy.
Lynn Gaudet with The Travel Store says travel suppliers are doing what they can to try and bring back their clients in a safe way.
“They’re offering insurance which is included with the package. My big advice would be to read the fine print. Will you be getting back your money if there are future waves of COVID?”
She also says find out what would happen if medical treatment is required while you’re away.
“If you are hospitalized in Cuba, the Dominican (Republic) or Mexico, will they Medivac you out of there back to Canada or do you have to stay in a local hospital?”
Gaudet adds they may have excellent facilities but you need to know what’s in your policy.
