Justin Trudeau is among the Canadians keeping an eye on tonight’s U-S election.
But the Prime Minister says he won’t be holding his breath waiting for the result to be announced tonight.
“We also know that there is a possibility that we won’t know the results until tomorrow morning, or even later in the week, or even longer than that. That is something that has happened before in terms of American elections,” he points out.
The Prime Minister says every presidency brings changes to the United States that Canada must react to, like renegotiating NAFTA.
“These are all things that are important to Canada to keep an eye on, to watch for, to figure out how to best defend Canada’s interest,” he adds.
Trudeau adds his government will continue to stand up for Canada’s interests in their relationship with the United States.
