A 32-year-old Moncton man has been arrested after RCMP seized a large amount of contraband tobacco as part of an ongoing investigation.
On Wednesday (November 4), Mounties pulled over a vehicle hauling a trailer on the Trans-Canada Highway near Salisbury.
During the stop, police looked inside the vehicle and a search uncovered 690,000 illegal cigarettes.
The man has been released from custody and charges have not yet been laid.
Caledonia RCMP and officers of the Justice and Public Safety Department were involved in the investigation.
