The Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative party was back in court Thursday for closing arguments in legal proceedings surrounding the Yarmouth-to-Maine ferry.
Party leader Tim Houston has been trying to find out how much Bay Ferries is paid by the province to operate The Cat.
He feels that they have made the point that the public deserves to know the numbers.
“I feel good,” said Houston. “The operator took the position that the release of this number could cause some harm to their business. They didn’t produce any evidence of that.”
He also speculated on what he hopes the outcome will be.
“To keep stuff hidden from taxpayers is the exact opposite of democracy,” said Houston “I’m hopeful that in this case, we can find the number because there’s a lesson to be learned here.”
Houston says that a ruling will come in the next few weeks.
