The chief medical officer of health says about 1,000 New Brunswickers are now self-isolating related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am sure that very few of these people expected that this would happen to them, and even fewer made a plan for this eventuality. But everyone needs to be ready. Every New Brunswicker, in every region of our province, should have a plan for self-isolation in case they are directed to self-isolate,” noted Dr. Jennifer Russell.
There are three current COVID-19 hot spots in the Maritimes – Moncton, Saint John and Halifax.
Dr. Russell is not recommending travel to or from those areas at the moment.
The Nova Scotia government is putting the Halifax region under lockdown on Thursday.
