Shannex announced six new cases of COVID-19 were discovered at Parkland Saint John on Saturday evening.
Four of the cases involve residents, and two are staff members. There have now been 15 infections at the assisted living facility, including 10 residents and five workers.
According to a press release, residents that test positive at Parkland are brought to a ‘cohorting area’ in Tucker Hall to self-isolate until they no longer have the virus.
The news comes one day after Saint John had its first day with no new positive COVID-19 tests since mid-November.
It’s likely that these six cases will be included in the daily COVID-19 update provided by Public Health on Sunday.
The press release says that Shannex is waiting on the province to schedule another round of tests for Parkland staff and residents.
