New Brunswick’s lieutenant-governor announced this year’s Queen’s Counsel appointments on Monday.
The honorary designation is given to lawyers who have demonstrated outstanding practice, shown integrity and leadership and made contributions to excellence in the profession.
This year’s 11 appointees include Catherine Fawcett and Marta Shannon of Saint John, Shawn Dempsey of Moncton, and Hugh Cameron of Fredericton.
Queen’s Counsel appointees must be members of the Law Society of New Brunswick and have at least 15 years’ experience in the practice of law.
An online ceremony for the new members is taking place.
