Chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell says another round of testing has found that one additional employee has tested positive at Parkland Saint John.
Dr. Russell says testing continues at the Shannex seniors facility where 20 cases have been confirmed – 11 residents, 8 employees, and one non-Shannex employee.
“Do not take chances with COVID-19,” said Dr. Russell. “I suggest the best gift you can give this year is the gift of safety. It remains very important to keep your number of close contacts low, especially during the holiday period.”
Meantime, a positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed December 16 at Southern Victoria High School in Perth-Andover and students will learn from home for the remainder of the week.
At this time, no student-to-student transmission has been determined in any school.
New Brunswick now has 55 active cases with three people in hospital, two of which are in intensive care.
