RCMP say they expect to resume searching for five fishermen missing in the Bay of Fundy on Monday, weather permitting.
The search has been paused for the holidays.
The Chief William Saulis scallop dragger and five of its fishermen have been missing since early morning on Tuesday, December 15th.
Poor weather and unfavourable conditions at sea have kept the RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team on land for a significant portion of the search.
The Mounties say that on Thursday, Air Services searched approximately 100 kilometres of coastline from Digby Gut to Harbourville by helicopter. The search yielded nothing.
RCMP say they’re in the planning stages of a partnership with the Canadian Coast Guard to help with recovery efforts, which will include sonar exploration.
