Hundreds of New Brunswickers are expected to receive their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week.
Health department spokesperson Bruce Macfarlane said clinics will take place at 20 long-term care facilities throughout the province.
Macfarlane said they are aiming to immunize 1,200 people during the clinics on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The other half of the 2,400 doses received last week will be set aside to be given as their second dose in a few weeks, he said.
Moderna is one of two vaccines currently approved for use in Canada, with the other being made by Pfizer-BioNTech.
The province has administered more than 2,900 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to date.
