Non-essential travel was not recommended during the holiday season but one New Brunswick MLA did leave the province.
Reports say Natural Resources and Energy Development Minister Mike Holland, who represents the Albert riding, visited his significant other in rural Nova Scotia.
A spokesperson for the premier’s office says Holland has returned home and is following COVID19-related guidelines including 14 days of self-isolation.
Before Christmas, chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell said the risks of travel are great with climbing case numbers across the country.
Self-isolation is mandatory for anyone leaving and returning to New Brunswick since the Atlantic Bubble burst in late November.
We have reached out to Holland’s office seeking comment.
