The search for 24-year-old Janson Bryan Baker has ended.
He was arrested early this afternoon.
Police located Baker’s abandoned vehicle shortly after 8am this morning in Amherst Nova Scotia.
Notification came from RCMP Nova Scotia of Baker’s arrest just after noon. A tweet stated he is now in custody.
Baker was at the centre of a manhunt in an investigation that began around 19 hours prior to his arrest.
Two emergency alert ready messages went out on TV’s, radios and other electronic devices in New Brunswick on Tuesday night, as RCMP continued their search for Baker who was wanted in connection with a shooting at Riverview High School.
One man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Sources tell us the victim is a teacher, who was reportedly approached by an individual in the suspect’s vehicle who demanded his bag
A firearm was then discharged towards the man.
RCMP Nova Scotia tweeted he was arrested without incident and is in custody.

The suspect from the Moncton bulletin has been arrested in Amherst. A second provincial alert has been sent out to advise the public. Amherst Police will be working closely with RCMP on this matter
