The Americans have won gold at the 2021 World Juniors in Edmonton.
The US shut out Canada 2-0 in the tournament championship to claim their first gold medal since 2017.
LA Kings prospect Alex Turcotte had the first goal of the game for the Americans, which turned out to be the game-winner. Ducks prospect Trevor Zegras added the other goal early in the second period.
Canada outshot the Americans 34-21, but were unable to beat Florida Panthers 2019 first-round draft pick Spencer Knight.
In the bronze medal game, it was Finland over Russia 4-1.
Zegras was named tournament MVP, while Canada’s Devon Levi was named as the tournament’s top goaltender.
