World leaders continue to weigh in on Wednesday’s attempted coup in Washington, D.C.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau believes Donald Trump has to take the blame for the deadly riot on Capitol Hill.
“What we witnessed was an assault on democracy by violent rioters incited by the current president and other politicians,” stated Trudeau.
The prime minister admits Canada is not immune to the kind of false rhetoric which lead to this week’s shocking events in the United States.
He says ” We have a responsibility as Canadians to continue to lead with respect, to engage substantially with different points of view and to never resort to violence as a way of impacting public discourse.”
Trudeau added that politicians also have to watch what they say and how they say it since it can have consequences.
