Saint John police say one of two people reported unlawfully at large on Thursday has been taken back into custody.
Kyle Maguire, 29, was one of two men who failed to return to the Parrtown Community Correctional Centre on Carleton Street.
He is serving a 45-month sentence for two counts of armed robbery and disguise with intent.
Police are still searching for a second man Dominic Caldi, who is serving an eight-year, 11-month sentence for several charges including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
The 29-year-old is described as 5’7″ tall, weighing 160 pounds with a shaved head and dark eyes. Police believe Caldi may be attempting to return to the Halifax area.
