RCMP are investigating human remains that were found washed ashore in Digby County.
A release says the Mounties were phoned around 1:30 on Friday by a man walking the shoreline near Central Grove.
The remains were found at the water’s edge.
RCMP say they’re working with the Medical Examiner’s office to help with the identification and circumstance that led to the man’s death.
There are several open missing persons cases in the area at this time.
Five crew members of the Chief William Saulis scallop dragger have been missing since December 15th, when the vessel went down in rough weather off Delaps Cove.
Delaps Cove is about 100 kilometres northeast of Central Grove.
Additionally, a 41-year-old man has been missing from Grand Manan, New Brunswick since January 7th.
RCMP confirm that they will be liaising with officers in New Brunswick when it comes to identifying the remains.
