Saint John has no immediate plans to add more transit trips despite new passenger limits.
Under the Red level of pandemic recovery, only nine passengers are allowed on a bus at one time.
That has left some transit users worried about whether they will make it to work or school on time.
When similar restrictions occurred last March, fewer people were using transit as schools and many workplaces had been forced to close.
In a statement, a city spokesperson said routes and schedules are operating as normal for the time being.
“We continue to monitor routes and operational practices closely with a focus on the safety of all passengers and operators,” said Nathalie Logan.
Logan said the fleet is sanitized daily, with increased cleaning protocols in place for high-touch areas. Hand sanitizer is available for passengers and masks are required at all times.
Any further changes to transit services will be communicated as needed, she said.
