The Saint John Sea Dogs have acquired four draft picks from the Sherbrooke Phoenix in exchange for forward Joshua Roy.
The Sea Dogs receive a first-round pick in 2021, 2022 and 2023, along with a second-round pick in 2021.
President and general manager Trevor Georgie said Roy wanted the chance to play in a different market.
“We brought in a significant return for [Roy],” Georgie said in a news release. “Given the uncertain times, these selections give us lots of flexibility and the ability to add players in the future.”
The return for Roy is the second-largest for a single-player in franchise history, behind Joe Veleno in 2017 that brought in three first-round and two second-round selections.
Saint John now holds six first-round picks in the next three drafts.
The Sea Dogs have acquired 3⃣ first round picks in a trade with the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
