Health Canada revealed that a substance found in a drug seizure contained Isotonitazene. The synthetic opioid causes effects that have drawn similarities to fentanyl.

Officers discovered a small plastic bag that contained a purple powder along with white pills and sent it to Health Canada for analysis. The pills are being described as triangular with the letter “M” on one side and the number “8” on the other side.
RCMP warn against illicit drug use but say the presence of Isotonitazene presents an added level of danger.
