Shubenacadie Sam and Wiarton Willie did not see their shadows this morning – indicating we would see an early spring.
Meanwhile, Punxsutawney Phil, the rodent featured prominently in the Bill Murray comedy Groundhog Day, and Balzac Billy in southern Alberta both saw their shadows, suggesting we may be in for six more weeks of winter.
Due to COVID-19 this year’s festivities were conducted over livestream. The Shubenacadie Wildlife Park hosted its stream on Facebook Live.
