New Brunswick plans to unveil a new plan to encourage remote workers to come and live in the province.
Arlene Dunn, minister responsible for economic development, has provided a sneak preview of the “Live for the Moment” campaign.
Dunn says technology now allows us to work anywhere and this a chance for workers in larger cities to relocate if they work from home.
“We’re going to be talking about New Brunswick and the awesome opportunity we have here in terms of work-life balance. Also the fact that we have been so safe through COVID, we have really managed that process so well.”
Dunn says they want to attract as many remote workers as possible with a target of 150 people over the next six months which she estimates would inject about $8 million into the economy.
She adds this is why the province is putting a focus on broadband and connectivity to make it easier for those living in rural areas.
Dunn admits Nova Scotia has already beaten New Brunswick to the punch by recently launching a remote work campaign of its own.
