The city announced the winners of its 2020 Heritage Awards at common council Monday.
The awards are given out to honour those who have contributed to the conservation of the city’s many heritage buildings.
Jennifer Irving Photography earned an award for storefront rehabilitation at 62 Water Street, which now houses Paris Crew, an art gallery and creative space.
A trio of uptown businesses – Obscurity, Juniper and the Art Warehouse – were also recognized for their signage.
Paul and Rena Chase were given an award for their commitment to craft, technical skills and knowledge in conservation trades.
The Peters House, located at 152 Watson Street, has also earned a designation as a local historic place.
The house is believed to have been the site of the first surgery using anesthesia in Canada in 1847.
