Prince Edward Island had a jump in COVID-19 cases Saturday.
Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison announced six new cases in their province, for a total of 12 new cases in the past four days.
Five individuals are men in their 20’s and the other is a woman in her 20’s.
All six cases are close contacts of previously reported cases.
Over 150 people have been identified as close contacts of the cases, and the number is expected to rise as contact tracing efforts continue.
In Prince Edward Island, all close contacts are required to self-isolate for 14 days from their last known contact with the positive case, even if they test negative.
A travel connection has not been identified for 10 of the 12 cases announced since Wednesday.
