Spring will officially arrive later this month and many are likely looking forward to warmer weather.
The Weather Network has released its spring forecast for New Brunswick which covers the months of March, April and May.
Meteorologist Doug Gilham says the winter has been milder than average and he expects that trend will continue this spring.
“It’s important to keep in mind that it’s normal in the spring to have back and forth swings in temperature and periods of disappointment. But we think that in those swings, we will tip to the warm side of normal,” says Gilham.
He believes this spring will be warmer than the last few years.
Precipitation is harder to predict notes Gilham since a lot can fall in just a couple of storms.
But he thinks precipitation should be close to average and adds we’ll have a lower risk for widespread spring flooding due to a below normal snowpack.
