Public Health has some good and bad news in the Edmundston region (Zone 4).
There’s a second confirmed case of COVID-19 at École Notre-Dame. Staff and students will be operating from home for the next three days to complete contact tracing and the cleaning and sanitizing of the school.
The community was notified and Public Health will reach out to those who have been in close contact with a case.
Public Health announced one new case on Wednesday involving someone in their 40s in the Edmunston region. The case is linked to a previous case and the person is self-isolating.
The COVID-19 outbreak at an adult residential facility in Edmundston is over.
According to Public Health, the outbreak declared on Jan. 24 at Villa des Jardins is now officially over thanks to the re-testing of staff and residents.
A potential public exposure has been identified at the Edmundston Truck Stop at 100 Grey Rock Rd at these times:
- March 9 between 2:35 a.m. and 3:05 a.m.;
- March 10 between 2 a.m. and 3:35 a.m.;
- March 11 between 9:45 a.m. and 10:35 a.m.; and
- March 12 between 11:35 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in New Brunswick is 1,477 while recoveries sit at 1,404 with one hospitalized patient.
There have been 30 deaths, and the number of active cases is 42. On Tuesday, 841 tests were conducted for a total 242,206.
