A familiar face is running for one of two councillor-at-large positions in Saint John.
Arty Watson said if he wins, he’ll work on negotiating a deal with port authorities for the future development of the Long Wharf Terminal.
“My vision is one that includes mixed housing with low and high-end rental units for all demographics, green spaces, restaurants, and retail outlets,” he said.
Tax reforms, sustainable development, and affordable housing are also on his list of priorities.
Watson said if he wins, he wants to see the pedway and boardwalk system extended.
He wants to see it connected with Market Square, Fundy Quay, Tin Can Beach and the Diamond Jubilee Cruise Terminal.
“We have seen some positive announcements the past few weeks that have lifted our spirits and it’s important that we keep this momentum going,” he said.
