The provincial health minister is urging New Brunswickers not to let their guard down in the fight against COVID-19.
Dorothy Shephard says she realizes that many of us now have COVID-fatigue.
“We know that people want to get back to normalcy. We’re in the home stretch. It’s really hard to convey that even though vaccinations are rolling out, we still need to follow public health measures.”
Shephard adds those measures – wearing a face mask, washing your hands, social distancing, keeping your bubbles small – are the best defence we have against COVID-19 and the variants.
Shephard remains concerned about how quickly the virus can spread with the new variants especially given the recent rise of cases in the Edmundston region.
More groups are now eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations through a pharmacist including those 75 and older along with truck drivers, cross-border commuters and rotational workers.
