The Zone 4 Edmundston region continued to see an uptick in COVID-19 cases Sunday.
Six new cases were announced today, with five in Zone 4, and one more case reported in the Miramichi zone.
Each of the new cases are either travel-related or connected to previously reported infections.
There are now 114 active cases province-wide, 91 of which are located in the Edmundston area. Zone 4 has reported 54 new cases since March 25.
Public Health announced in a press release Sunday that COVID-19 assessment centres in Edmundston and Grand Falls will have extended hours and increased testing capacity.
The province will continue to hold vaccination clinics for high school staff members.
There are currently five New Brunswickers in hospital with the virus, one of whom is in the intensive care unit.
