Water levels could reach flood stage in several communities along the lower Saint John River this week.
The latest five-day forecast from River Watch shows Fredericton will surpass flood stage (6.5 metres) by 10 centimetres Saturday morning. Water levels are then expected to drop to 6.0 metres by Sunday morning.
Gagetown is expected to hit 4.2 metres on Saturday and 4.5 metres on Sunday. Flood stage in the community is 4.0 metres.
Water levels in Jemseg are expected to reach flood stage of 4.3 metres on Sunday.
In the Saint John region, water levels are expected to remain below flood stage (4.2 metres) over the next five days, reaching 3.8 metres by Sunday morning.
